Monocacy Middle School recently received some TLC... that is Trimming, Landscaping, and Clean-up. Girl Scout Cadette Troop 81534 adopted Monocacy Middle as their community service project, and in November the Troop spent several hours over the course of two weekends sprucing up the school's front gardens and driveway flower beds.
The Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) program, established by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs, recently identified Monocacy Middle School as a Gold Standard School. PBIS emphasizes that classroom management and preventive school discipline must be integrated and must work together with effective academic instruction in a positive and safe school climate to maximize success for all students.
